ALINA SOLDATOVA

ACCOUNTANT

Payroll Compliance Professional — In Progress
Leadership & Facilitation Training
First Aid and CPR-HCP Certification

As an Accountant at Cascadia, Alina supports full-cycle accounting for the company’s projects, including accounts payable and receivable, job-cost tracking, reconciliations and financial reporting. Her work gives project teams an accurate, up-to-date picture of costs and cash flow while construction is still underway, allowing risks to be identified and better decisions to be made earlier.

Alina’s resilience is something she credits to growing up in a coal-mining family, where willpower and a level head in hard times were ordinary, everyday things. She meets challenges the same way — calmly, and with a long view. Family and friends are the center of her life, and Alina is happiest when the people she loves are smiling. Her favourite days are spent with them: on a trail, at a campsite, or on a beach somewhere in Tofino. She also performs Ukrainian folk dance, though she is quick to add, cheerfully, that she has a long way to go before she’d call herself a professional.

Detail-oriented, logical and creative, Alina approaches problems calmly and continually looks for ways to make a good process even better. Since joining Cascadia in 2022, Alina has supported more than ten rental, residential and tenant-improvement projects, including the multiple award-winning Innova. She also played a lead project-management role in the company’s transition to a new ERP system, improving reporting accuracy and coordination between the accounting and development teams.

Alina loves tackling challenges together and then seeing the numbers and plans become something real — a completed building, a new home and happy families moving in.
